I admit, I am too shy to get in front of the camera a lot of the time. If I wasn’t, well, you’d probably see haul videos and Vlogs. Unfortunately, I am just not that kind of girl. HOWEVER! River is a good sharer, so I thought for those who don’t follow me on Twitter, here’s a look at all the books I received in the month of June. What I may try to do is just have all the books in one shot at the end of each month, but we’ll see. For now, here’s what I got (which is really what you care about and not my rambles, yes?)
The Princess and the Pony by Kate Beaton — Ended up reading this as soon as I got it. I really want to use this book in a storytime! It’s very much a book about girls being able to do whatever they want without someone stopping them. It’s sweet, funny and worth the read.
From First Second:
The Divine by Asaf Hanuka, Tomer Hanuka, Boaz Lavie — Ended up reading this during #crushyourtbr. You’ll see a review for it coming very soon. 🙂
From Raincoast Books & Simon Teen Canada
Here’s the books in more detail:
- Crenshaw by Katherine Applegate
- Your Voice is All I Hear by Lean Scheier
- A History of Glitter and Blood by Hannah Moskowitz
- Delicate Monsters by Stephanie Kuehn (for the Blog Tour!)
From Simon Teen:
- The Blackthorn Key by Kevin Sands
- The Scorpion Rules by Erin Bow (SOHYPEDFORTHIS.)
My June Uppercase Box!
The Wrath and the Dawn (The Wrath and the Dawn #1) by Renee Ahdieh — I’ve never tried a subscription box before, for I decided to opt for Uppercase Box to see what kind of book selections they do for the month. It’s a pretty reasonable service and I plan on reading this book ASAP in July. I was determined to try to get in on an OwlCrate, but damn those go fast. However, I loved all the goodies that came in this book, and I’m excited to see how I enjoy this retelling when I get to it.
From my Husband:
The Color of Water by Kim Dong Hwa — So River actually gifted me the first book in this series and OMG, I was hooked. So much so that I sent my husband on a wild goose chase for the other two since they are both rare and out of print. Well, he found me the second book (which I also devoured during #crushyourtbr) and I need the last one. Come hell or high water, I must find it.
And there you have it! What were some of the books you recieved in the month of June? What are you most eager to read from your haul? Not going to lie, I’m actually excited to read all of these, and the ones I have already read, I quite enjoyed. 😀
